Lenovo Zuk Z2 Set to Launch Today

Lenovo's Zuk brand is set to launch its latest smartphone (the third in its lineup) on Tuesday. The company so far has launched the Zuk Z1 (bringing it to India as the Lenovo Zuk Z1 earlier this month), and the Zuk Z2 Pro.

The Zuk Z2 is expected to be the 'lite' version of the Zuk Z2 Pro, and was allegedly listed on Chinese telecommunications certification authority Tenaa recently complete with specifications and images.

The smartphone is expected to come with dual-SIM functionality, and run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The Zuk Z2 was spotted with a 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920) display with 2.5D curved glass protection. The listing claims that the smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 820 SoC, which fits a recent teaser by the company. Notably, Zuk CEO Chang Cheng had earlier hinted at the use of the Samsung Exynos 8890 SoC. This has fuelled rumours that the smartphone could launched in two processor variants.
The listing reveals that the smartphone offers 3GB RAM/ 32GB inbuilt storage and 4GB RAM/ 64GB inbuilt storage options. Optics include a 13-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front lens. It packs a 3500mAh battery, weighs 150 grams, and the dimensions are at 140.5x69x7.9mm.
The specifications match previous leaks that the Zuk Z2 is just the smaller version of the Lenovo Zuk Z2 Pro. Just to compare, the Zuk Z2 Pro offers a 5.2-inch display, Snapdragon 820 SoC, 13-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front camera; 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM/128GB storage options. It packs a 3100mAh battery, and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 as well.
